Undefeated Brazil and China begin Finals campaigns

 

Head-to-Head
·    This is the 35th meeting between these nations at the World Grand Prix. Brazil have won 24 of the previous 34 meetings, with China winning 10 times.
·    Brazil have won the last 11 meetings, which is a record winning streak for Brazil against China in the World Grand Prix.
·    Of these last 11 meetings, China won only five sets.
·    They have met 13 times in the Final Round, with Brazil winning 10 times, including the last six.
·    China's last victory against Brazil in the World Grand Prix was on 22 June 2008, winning 3-2 in Ningbo.
·    China have yet to beat Brazil in the World League in another country than China, Macau or Hong Kong.
·    Brazil and China are the only countries, together with Netherlands, to have won all their World Grand Prix matches this year.

Brazil
·    Brazil have won the World Grand Prix in 2013 and 2014 and can win three years in a row for the first time since 2004-2006. The only other nation to have won the title three years in a row is USA (2010-2012).
·    Brazil have qualified for the Final Round in 21 of their 22 World Grand Prix participations, only missing out in 2003. They did not participate in 1997.

China
·    China have won the World Grand Prix once, in 2003.
·    This is their 23rd participation and they have qualified for the Final Round for the 22nd time, only missing out in the 1997 season.
·    They have won their last nine World Grand Prix matches, all this season. In 2013 they won their first 13 matches.
·    They won at least two sets in their last 11 World Grand Prix matches.
