I'm so proud of my team, says Turkey coach Akbas

Ferhat Akbas was very happy with his side

Stuttgart, Germany, July 17, 2015 – Turkey coach Ferhat Akbas says his side focused on playing well, and the result followed, following their 3-2 win (20-25, 28-26, 31-29, 14-25, 18-16) over Germany in a thrilling FIVB World Grand Prix match on Friday.“Today we didn't focus so much on winning the match, but on playing good volleyball,” he said. “I am happy and very proud of my team, because we didn't give up fighting until the end of the match”.Luciano Pedullà, coach of Germany added: “We lost a good occasion, especially in the second and the third set. Because we played well, we made too many mistakes. Also when we served well sometimes, they managed to spike and they made it difficult for us. In the important moments we made mistakes and Turkey didn’t. I am very disappointed – one billion on a scale of one to one million.”Margareta Kozuch, captain of Germany added: “It is very disappointing for us to lose this important match. But we stuck together as a team the whole time and now our task will be to deal with the disappointment together. Congratulations to Turkey, they never gave up fighting.”
