Juciely Cristina Barreto guides Brazil to comfortable victory

Bangkok, Thailand, July 5, 2015 - Brazil overwhelm home team Thailand with a straight sets 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-13) victory with Juciely Cristina Barreto hitting 15 points for the away side. Thailand started strongly but faded down the stretch as Brazil improve as the game wore on

The day's second game in Bangkok saw the hosts take on Brazil and the early exchanges were even at 10-10 as both sides were matching each other in scoring. As the set woreon, there was still little between the two teams and at 21-21 the set was poised to go either way. An unsuccessful challenge from the home side saw Brazil creep in front at the crucial back-end of the set and they took it 25-23 for a 1-0 lead to silence the home crowd.

Despite an early 3-1 advantage to Thailand, the Brazilian side led by Juciely Cristina Barreto and Ana Carolina Da Silva in scoring were again proving to be too strong for Thailand in the second set. At 14-10 to Brazil, a fightback was much needed by the home side, backed by their vocal home crowd but the Brazilian side moved further in front to lead 19-12. Thailand reduced the lead to five points at 21-16 but the damage had been done and Brazil wrapped up the set 25-18.

The third set was a more even affair in the early stages as both teams exchanged points until Brazil took control through Barreto who was having a strong game for the South American side, leading the team in points. At 14-8, Thailand were in need of some inspiration to extend the game but Brazil were showing no mercy and raced to a 3-0 victory with a 25-15 third set win.
