Brazil's Jaqcueline and Joyce combine to whitewash Germany

The sides were evenly matched, but Germany made more errors

Sao Paulo, July 12, 2015 – Brazil beat Germany 3-0 (26-24, 25-22, 25-24) to continue their excellent, unbeaten start to the FIVB World Grand Prix.

Germany started set one far stronger, running into a 19-13 lead, with Maren Brinker and Margareta Kozuch particularly dangerous. But errors suddenly crept into their game as they got close to the line, and with Jaqueline and Joyce scoring well, Brazil edged the set 26-24.

Lena Stigrot scored well for Germany in set two, but again Brazil had a little too much firepower, with Juciely and Gabi adding to the scoring as they won it 25-22; a huge Juciely block proved the crucial point. And Brazil confirmed their supremacy, winning set three 26-24, with too many errors from Germany proving the key difference between the two sides.

Maren Brinker was the top scorer in the match with 20 points. Jaqueline got 13 for Brazil. Follow our live match text commentary here
