Monterrey, Mexico, June 28, 2015 - Colombia beat Kenya 3-0 (25-21, 25-14, 25-20) in Pool O to record their second win from three starts in a successful debut weekend of FIVB World Grand Prix participation. Amanda Coneo top scored for the victors with 13, as Colombia won their second match in straight sets following a 3-0 win against Mexico in their first match of the tournament.
Early errors cost Kenya as Colombia held a 4-0 lead in the first set. Yeisy Soto picked up a kill against no Kenya block to give Colombia a 12-7 advantage. Kenya wouldn't concede though and went on a seven-point run which included two aces from Everlyne Makuto. But Colombia won the first set 25-21 after a few more errors from their opponents.
Soto aced to give Colombia a 6-3 break in the second and after a bad rotation from Kenya, Colombia held an 11-3 lead. Soto spiked to give Colombia set point at 24-14 and a reception error from Kenya gave Colombia the set 25-14 and a 2-0 buffer.
Coneo opened things up in the third and after an ace Colombia lead 3-0. Makuto was prominent on the block for Kenya but Colombia never let them in front and won the third 25-20 and the match 3-0.
