We knew Kazakhstan would be tough: Cuba coach

Trujillo, Peru, July 3 2015 – Cuba's team took revenge for their previous loss and showed their best performance as they defeated Kazakhstan 3-0 in Pool P of the FIVB World Grand Prix in Trujillo on Friday.

Cuba's team captain, Sulian Matienzo, said: We knew that this match would be tough against Kazakhstan because we lost in their country, but now we were stronger and we got the victory.

Cuba coach Roberto García: This second round is really tough because it includes Colombia, Kazakhstan and Peru and the team has to be very focused. We knew that having the serve we could take the victory.

The captain of Kazakhstan, Korinna Ishimtseva, said: We couldn't play as we wanted. We got late into the flow of the game, but we congratulate Cuba for the high performance that they showed.

Kazakhstan coach Oleksandr Gutor: The team today didn't show its best style of game, that is also in part because we came from a long journey, but now we will be more focused for the next matches.
