Italy's Indre Sorokaite hitting against China's block
Omaha, USA, July 24, 2015 - In the first five-set thriller of the 2015 FIVB World Grand Prix Finals in Omaha, Nebraska, Italy walked away with a hard-fought 25-15, 22-25, 22-25, 25-18, 15-12 victory for their first win in three Finals matches.
Italy coach Marco Bonitta: "It was a very difficult game because we started very good in the first set. In the second and third sets, we made a lot of mistakes. Our team came back and we are very happy to win because we had lost every game and now finally one victory. I told them to continue to play because during the match they had good skills. Our team needs calm situation and play point-by-point."
China coach An Jiajie: "In the first set we were at a disadvantage, but we fought back back. In the fifth set showed our lack of experience. Overall I think our performance was very good I am very proud of our players."
China captain Ding Xa: "We fought very hard with a lot determination. Italy is a strong team. This match will be very difficult for all us. I think we live up to who we are."
Italy player Indre Sorokaite: "It was a really long match but we finally won. It is our first win in the Final 6. It is kind of hard with six of the greatest teams in the world here."
