Brazil coach Guimaraes: "I liked the way the team played"

Brazil's Gabriela Guimaraes was the best scorer of the hosts with 13 points

Sao Paulo, Brazil, July 10, 2015 – Brazil played for the first time at home in the 2015 World Grand Prix and defeated Belgium in straight sets (25-17, 25-16, 25-14) at Ibirapuera Gymnasium.

Brazil coach Jose Roberto Guimaraes: "Their serve was really good and we were not focused in the beginning. But we improved our serve and the block was really better.  It was a deserved win. I liked the way the team played, especially because we could use many players and give minutes to some players who were not playing so constantly".

Brazil captain Fernanda Garay: "We started a little bit slow, but we could understand their offense and our block improved. Our sideout was good and when the block improved we controlled the match better. In the first set, when we were behind, the fans encouraged us a lot".

Belgium coach Gert Vande Broek: "We played against Brazil last year in Japan and I could notice we improved a lot since then, but the gap between the two teams is still very big. I am pleased with my team’s attitude and with the way we approached the match".

Belgium captain Charlotte Leys: "We did not come here thinking about winning Brazil. This is a match for us to learn and a great opportunity to improve. We started well, but they took control of the match and we did not find solutions to score against their great block. It was a really good experience, the fans were amazing".
