Bangkok, Thailand, July 3, 2015 – Brazil finished with a 3-1 scoreline by beating Japan in Pool A of the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix at the Huamark Indoor Stadium on Friday.

Brazil coach Jose Roberto Guimaraes: “Every time we play against Japan, it is always tough. They served very well in this match. In the first set, they controlled the game; and in the second and third sets, we changed a little bit because we were more relaxed and our middle blocker played very well. Of course, I am very happy with the result.”

Brazil captain Fernanda Rodrigues: “I am very happy to win this game because it is always hard for us to play against Japan. We know they are a dangerous team.”

Japan coach Masayoshi Manabe: “I would like to congratulate Brazil. They were well-focused in the match today.”

Japan captain Saori Kimura: “I think our team played very well in the first set, but after that, we committed many errors that shifted the momentum to the Brazilian team.”
