Russia celebrates a point and big win over Brazil on day two of the FIVB World Grand Prix Finals

Omaha, USA, July 23, 2015 - Russia picked a key win in the five-day, round-robin FIVB World Grand Prix Finals with a 25-19, 28-26, 25-19 victory over two-time defending champions Brazil.

Russia coach Yury Marichev: This match was easier. Today was important with our mental preparation. It helped us dominate in areas such as block and reception.


Russia captain Ekaterina Kosianenko: "This as a very important game for us. We kept our cool in the game and able to win. It was a real beautiful game today. I am really glad we won today. It wouldn't be accomplished without all my teammates."


Brazil coach Paulo do Rego Barros: "We did not play our volleyball and gave too many mistakes to Russia. Our skills like reception, serve, block and dig did not work so well today. We gave many gave mistakes, more than expected."


Brazil captain Danielle Lins: "The red card did not have any relations to the way the game was."
