Canberra, July 11, 2015: Going into this match Peru and Colombia were locked at two wins each from their last four outings, but the more experienced Peru showed they were a class above in the pressure situation with a 21-16, 21-17, 21-19 win over their South American rivals, booking their place in Sunday's gold medal match.
Peru coach Mauro Marasciulo: "We think every game is a complicated one, and there are no easy games. The team responded well."
"Both teams know each other well. Peru and Colombia always play against each other."
"We have been working now for five months in our domestic league on our defence and today it came together.
Peru captain Mirtha Uribe: "Against the Colombians it is always a tough match, so it was important that we started well."
"We have some very talented players, but tonight we worked together as a team.
"We have been playing around the world, and there are always Peru fans in the crowd. But tonight it was amazing, it was really cheerful - it really meant much to us."
Colombia captain Maria Alejandra Marin: "In the game tonight the team that made the less mistakes was the team that won. Colombia was not in the game, now we have to focus on our game tomorrow.
"I don't think we lost because of a lack of experience, because the team has been playing together for a long time. I think tonight was just a bad night for us."
