Russia coach Marichev Yury: My players were nervous on court

Ningbo, China, July 3, 2015 – Russia took a 3-1 victory over Germany in the opening match of Pool B of the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix at the Beilun Sports and Arts Centre on Friday.

Russia coach Yury Marichev: “We played well but some young players are quite nervous on the court. I hope that we could play better tomorrow. For most of my players, this is their first big match in China.”

Germany coach Luciano Pedulla: “I am glad with my team’s performance today. They communicated very well and worked hard. We both have young players on the court but the team play is balanced, we just made some little mistakes in the match. I know it would be difficult to play against China but we will do something good.”

Germany captain Margareta Kozuch: “Russia did very well. I am upset because I thought we could take at least one point. All I can think of now is about our match against China.”
