Bangkok, Thailand, July 3, 2015 – Thailand won the intense clash against Serbia 3-2 (25-17, 15-25, 23-25, 25-22, 15-11) in Pool A of the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix at the Huamark Indoor Stadium on Friday.

Thailand coach Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai: “I want to thank my players and my staff, and I also want to thank all the fans who came to support us. The Serbian team played very well and it was a hard job for us. We learned a lot of things from Serbia today. We will try to focus on the next match and I wish Serbia good luck in their next match.

Thailand captain Wilavan Apinyapong: “Today we followed our game plan. In the first set, our team played very well according to plan. In the second set, we made a lot of errors and Serbia played better, so it was very hard for us to win the set. Serbia’s serve is also very difficult to receive that forced us to lose control of the game. Finally, I am very happy to win today. I have learned from the mistakes in the match and I hope to win tomorrow’s match against Japan.”

Serbia coach Branko Kovacevic: “We need to repeat what is good in this match for our match tomorrow. We need to forget about this loss and look forward to the next match.”

Serbia captain Brizitka Molnar: “I want to congratulate Thailand. I hope we can play better in our next match.”
