"Whole team performance is needed for Belgium to succeed," says Gert Vande Broek

Italian team enjoy the win

Catania, Italy,  July 16, 2015 - While Italy celebrate a 3-0 (25-17, 26-24, 25-14) victory, Belgium have less reasons to be satisfied and the coach Gert Vande Broek admits that it is necessary to have whole team playing the top level to win against a team like Italy.

Marco Bonitta, coach of Italy: We are really happy about the result, it was not an easy match for us, but we know we have to work hard to face another game tomorrow."

Valentina Arrighetti, captain of Italy Captain: "It was a great win, not easy especially because we were quite tired after many long travels. The atmosphere that Sicilian people have created was great and helped us to have the win."

Gert Vande Broek, Belgium Head Coach: "We played very well during two sets, especially the second one, but Italy is a great team, really hard to defeat. Just two or three players played in a powerful way, but we need all the team playing good level to achieve the results."

Charlotte Leys, Belgium captain: "During third set our strategy game didn't work and we struggled to find our rhythm against the great level from Italy".
