Porec, Croatia, July 4, 2015 - Led by the powerful point scoring of Anne Buijs (16), Judith Pietersen (15) and Maret Balkestein-Grothues (14), Netherlands cruised to a comfortable 3-0 (25-11, 25-11, 25-12) victory over Argentina in Pool J of the World Grand Prix on Saturday.

Argentina got off to the worst possible start, shipping five successive points on the serve of Netherlands’ Laura Dijkema, and things never got any better for Guillermo Orduna’s side, who saw their four-match winning streak come to a juddering halt.

The South American side had no answer to the power and precision of Buijs and Co., who never released their grip on the match as they followed up with a second successive win after their 3-1 tournament opening success against Czech Republic.

Leticia Boscacci, so effective for Argentina in their opening victory over Croatia, was expertly marshalled by the Netherlands defence, scoring just three points in total. Her country’s top scorer in a disappointing match was Elina Rodriguez, who registered eight points.
