China beat USA in five sets to stay top of Pool H

 

China's 3-2 win against USA keeps them top of Pool H

Hong Kong, China, July 18, 2015 - China beat USA 3-2 (22-25, 25-13, 25-22, 19-25, 15-12) in their Pool H match on Saturday. The win ensures China stay on top of the Pool with a perfect three-from-three in Pool H matches.

China won five successive points to claim a 13-8 lead in the opening set but some good USA blocking helped them wipe away China's advantage. Foluke Akinradewo was serving well for USA and they took the set 25-22.

Zhu Ting was prominent at the start of the second set and along with Hui Ruoqi helped China take control of the set and win it 25-13. China continued their dominance early in the third and USA errors were proving costly for the visitors. Zhu remained central to China's progress and they took the third 25-22.

Kelly Murphy was scoring well for USA and with Jordan Larson-Burbach and Akinradewo chiming in, USA took the fourth set 25-19 to level the match at 2-2. Kelsey Robinson was working hard for USA but China were too good and took the set 15-12 and the match 3-2. Zhu led all scorers with 23.
