China see off Japan in four sets

Saitama, Japan, July 12, 2015 - China outplayed Japan 3-1 (25-11, 21-25, 25-15, 25-17) with Ting Zhu's 16 point significantly contributing to the victory.

China got ahead early in the first set 8-5 and just kept pushing their advantage to lead 16-6 at the second technical timeout. In the late stage the Chinese players were still showing an incredible offence power and closed out the set 25-11.

In the second set Japan grabbed an early advantage 6-3 and managed to keep it until China took the lead 13-12 on a spike by Ruoqi Hui. Some next rallies saw both teams trading points before Japan pulled away into 23-20 as Hui sent her spike long. The hosts stayed calm until the end and took the set 25-21 on an ace.

Set three saw China quickly going 10-4 up as Japan were struggling to receive the serves. Additionally the Chinese players were frustrating their opponents with powerful spikes and managed to find the holes in the defence with soft tips on the net. They quickly found themselves leading 22-12 to eventually take the set 25-15. The fourth set was a copy of the previous one as China took again an early advantage and never allowed Japan to get close, finishing it off 25-17 on a Xia Ding spike.
