Kiraly: Our blocking got better

Omaha, USA, July 23, 2015 - USA ran their record to 2-0 on the FIVB World Grand Prix Final Round following 25-17, 25-14, 15-25, 25-18 victory over Italy on Thursday in Omaha, Nebraska, USA.

USA coach Karch Kiraly: "I really like that Italy switched some things up and but a different lineup out there and it took a little while to figure out how to pick the lock a bit. No. 15 for Italy came in and did a nice job and brought some energy. It wouldn't call it a wake up call, but it was certainly that they came at us hard. It is always good when a good team puts us in some trouble and positions of discomfort. It is a way we can learn and improve to work out of those stressful positions."

USA player Kelsey Robinson: "It was a matter of us adjusting to what they were doing. We could have adjusted faster. Other that we could adjusted faster. In my position it is about being consistent and being the best ball control player out there. Me and Jordan and Tama handled the serves really well. I think right now we are taking it day by day. Our mission is to be the best team we can. That is take it point by point, day by day."

Italian coach Marco Bonitta: "It was not a tough loss, but it was just a horrible way to lose with a very strong team. It has been a very big surprise to be in the finals with this young team. This experience will be useful for the next year."

Italian captain Valentina Arrighetti: "Obviously USA is always difficult. I am happy because some of our young players are playing with energy."

Italian player Miriam Fatime Sylla:
