Natalia’s power too much as Brazil thrash Belgians

 

Brazil were just too strong for the Europeans on the day

Catania, July 17, 2015 – Brazil beat Belgium 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-23) in their FIVB Grand Prix match on Friday.

Brazil ran into an early lead in set one, with Monique and Natalia grounding some great hits. And they held on to win the set easily, 25-14. Belgium’s block improved in set two, but they made more errors than the South Americans, who also spiked more – again led by Natalia. Brazil took set two 25-17. 

Charlotte Leys, Laura Heyrman and Kaja Grobelna battled hard for Belgium in the third set as they ran four points ahead to 20-16, but again they were second best when it counted. Brazil levelled, and won the set 25-23, and the match.

Natalia was the match’s top scorer with 17 points, Charlotte Leys and Laura Heyrman got 10 each for Belgium. Read the live text commentary from this match here
