Saori Kimura scored an equal game-high 15 points for Japan

Hong Kong, China, July 18, 2015 - Japan beat Thailand 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-15) in Pool H, with a superior blocking and serving performance helping them claim maximum points.

Japan coach Masayoshi
Manabe:
"We are happy to play against
Thailand today. We both come from Asia and neither team has advantage in terms
of height, but we do learn a lot from this encounter. We hope we can make use
of this experience and play better in the upcoming games."

Japan captain Saori Kimura:
"The Thailand team is very tough that we always have
to plan complex strategies. Our effective blocking led us to the triumph today."

Thailand coach Kiattipong
Radchatagriengkai:
"We are really glad to get to
play again in Hong Kong, against the best teams in the world. Congratulations
to the Japan team, they played very well today. We have learnt a lot from their
techniques. We will try to play better in future."
