China liking atmosphere in USA and Omaha for World Grand Prix

Ding Xia is happy to be back on the court for China and has enjoyed the atmosphere in Omaha for the World Grand Prix Finals

Omaha, USA, July 25, 2015 - China is playing in the United States for the second time in two months and have enjoyed their stays across the Pacific Ocean.

In June, China played the USA in a four-match USA Volleyball Cup series with matches in Honolulu and Southern California. In a rematch of the 2014 FIVB World Championship title match in which the American won, the two young squads ranked No. 1 and No. 3 in the world won two matches each.

Now, China is back in the USA competing in the FIVB World Grand Prix Finals in Omaha, Nebraska - the first time the event has been held in the USA in the 23-year history. China's captain Ding Xia was unable to compete in the USA Volleyball, and was disappointed that she was unable to play early on in the World Grand Prix.

"To be honest, I just started to feel good today because I was injured the first day and in the following two days I had to watch and that was frustrating," Ding said.

Despite the early injury setback, Ding has enjoyed the atmosphere in Omaha and in the CenturyLink Center.

"I think the fans here have brought a lot of enthusiasm and have been very supportive," Ding said. "I am very happy to play for them."

Would Ding want to return to the United States?

"Very much," she said quickly.
