Kiraly: Really proud how this team dialed it in

 

USA was presented the FIVB World Grand Prix Finals trophy immediately after defeating China on Sunday

Omaha, USA, July 26, 2015 - The USA finished the FIVB World Grand Prix Finals with a 5-0 record after defeating China 25-23, 25-19, 25-18 on Sunday afternoon in Omaha, Nebraska, USA.

USA coach Karch Kiraly: "I was really proud how this team dialed it in. We talk about being engaged a lot, about knowing what our jobs are executing that. This group that was out there did a fabulous job. We had already earned the right to be called champions here, but we wanted to finish the tournament right. It doesn't matter who we are playing or what is on the line. We got to be all in to this thing, that is what we are and how we operate. China has played a very strong Grand Prix Finals week."


USA captain Christa Dietzen: "We are really excited. We really want to thank Omaha for hosting us, the volunteers, everybody who put time in to hosting us this week. We had a great time. It was awesome to bring the trophy back to America. We hope to have many more tournaments in the States. It is a tribute to all our staff, our medical staff, our coaching staff, everybody involved - not just the 14 players here, but everybody who has come to the USA gym this summer and previous years. We have been coming everyday with the same mentality to work hard and to be learners. That is a tribue to be constant learn to be better and efficient in the game. I think that is why we can be successful in these tournaments multiple times."


China coach An Jianjie: "Team USA is a very strong team. Compared to them, our middle blockers are not strong enough."


China player Zhang Changning: "Team USA played very well."
