Margareta Kozuch: "Straight sets win not an easy one"

Stuttgart, Germany, July 16, 2015 - Captain Margareta Kozuch admits that despite what the result suggests, the match was not an easy one for her team. Germany won over Dominican Republic 3-0 (25-12, 25-11, 25-18), but coach Luciano Pedulla say that team need to work on improving their performance for the upcoming matches.

Cristian Cruz, coach of Dominican Republic: “I´m not sad because my young players made a very good performance in the third set. Germany is a very strong team with a good serve and good block today. They were better and deserved to win.”

Luciano Pedullà, coach of Germany: “We played two sets very well but not the whole match and made too many mistakes in the third set. But I had the opportunity to change some players. The concentration of the girls was good and I want to congratulate them for their way of playing in the first and second set. But we know that we have to improve our performance before the match against Turkey.”

Margareta Kozuch, captain of Germany: “A straight sets win only looks like an easy job but especially at the beginning of the sets we lost our game a few times. So the Dominican Republic was able to push themselves back into the game. It was very important that we improve our game in the third set after some problems. Our substitutions worked out also very well.”
