Media covering all angles of World Grand Prix Finals

 

Dozens of media were on hand for the FIVB World Grand Prix Finals this week in Omaha, USA.

Omaha, USA, July 26, 2015 – The FIVB World Grand Prix Finals has drawn attention worldwide with extensive coverage from local and international press as well as a worldwide viewing audience.

The Omaha/Lincoln media market had 36 media members representing 11 different media entities sharing the highlights of the FIVB World Grand Prix Finals For a quick review of selected articles, click here.

The Associated Press will have covered all 15 matches by the conclusion of the final point, sending out print and photography needs to a world-wide audience. Images of the event were shared from five media organizations outside of the Omaha area.

Television has been a big component of the media success this week in Omaha.

NBC, which holds the rights to Olympic Games broadcasts in the United States, is televising today’s final USA match against China on a live basis throughout the United States on its prime network. It is thought to be the first-ever non-Olympic Games live broadcast of the U.S. women’s team on NBC. The television station has shown the previous matches on is cable channel Universal Sports.

FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F° stressed the importance of the relationship this event has had with NBC. Last week he was a special guest of AVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour’s New York City open and had the opportunity to meet top NBC executives.

In total, 26 television networks in 25 nations purchased rights to show matches from the FIVB World Grand Prix Finals. For many individuals without access to the television feed, the FIVB is showing live video streams on its YouTube platform.

The FIVB has added to the breadth of the media exposure through FIVB.com and their multitude of social media platforms such as YouTube, Twitter and Facebook. All 15 matches were broadcast live on FIVB's YouTube channel.
