Hong Kong, July 16, 2015 – USA continued their winning ways by beating Japan 3-0 (25-23, 25-22, 26-24) at the Hong Kong Stadium on Thursday evening.
Japan coach Masayoshi Manabe: USA is excellent at service. It is very difficult to receive. They are also good at blocking. We made some unforced errors and did not perform to the best.
Japan captain Saori Kimura: We lost to USA today but we will perform to our best tomorrow and get a better result.
USA coach Karch Kiraly: It was a great honour to compete against the legendary team Japan. We have always learnt from their fighting spirit, they never give up and have great defence. It is a good preparation for the match tomorrow.
USA captain Christa Harmotto Dietzen: We always enjoy playing with Japan. They are fantastic at defence and made us frustrated. However we remained patient throughout the match. It was a great match with Japan.
