Russia finished their home WGP campaign with a victory over Turkey

Kaliningrad, July 12, 2015 – Russia coach Yury Marichev said that he was happy with his side’s weekend after their 3-1 defeat of Turkey (26-24, 17-25, 25-23, 25-21) in their FIVB World Grand Prix clash on Sunday evening.“Two victories out of three matches is a good result, but we should improve the quality of our game, especially the reception,” said Marichev. “We have successfully tested new players in this tournament.”Russia captain Ekaterina Kosianenko added: “It was hard for us to play at the ends of the sets. After the fail in the second one, we refocused and improved our game. We need to work on our reception and attack. We would like to thank Kaliningrad fans for their great support.”Turkey coach Ferhat Akbas said: “It was a very good match for Russia. Our young players played rather well. We deserve to win some points.”
