Trujillo, Peru, July 3, 2015 – Colombia showed a strong performance with a 3-0 upset on hosts Peru in Pool P of the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix at the Gran Chimu Coliseum on Friday.

Colombia coach Eduardo Guillaume: “We’ve seen two young teams with good and bad days. I am happy because all my players played well and I know that this match against Peru will be tough, that’s why it’s very important to keep our focus from beginning to end. We cannot lose focus in this match.”

Colombia captain Maria Marin: “We knew that Peru is a strong team but Colombia came to give it all in this match to recover from our loss in Mexico last week. We made less mistakes and our objective was accomplished.”

Peru coach Mauro Marasciulo: “We started the first set losing and when we took the lead, we couldn’t keep it. Now we have to talk and fix a lot of things for tomorrow’s match.”

Peru captain Mirtha Uribe: “We recognised that we had a lot of problems in reception and it was tough to react in that kind of situation in order for us to win against Colombia.”
