Taldykorgan, Kazakhstan, June 28, 2015 –Kazakhstan surged in the tie-break to win against Cuba (25-16, 12-25, 26-24, 21-25, 15-13) in FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix at the Zhastar Sports Palace. The home side’s win on Sunday bring them to the top of Pool N.

Kazakhstan coach Oleksandr Gutor: “It was a very entertaining game. In the first set, Cuba was not good, but in the second set, it was our team which did not play well. In the following sets, the errors made the difference. We wish Cuba the best in the next round.”

Kazakhstan captain Korinna Ishimtseva: “It was a very tough game. We thank Cuba for giving us good competition in this match. In the second set, their serve was so good so we could only manage to get 12 points.”

Cuba coach Roberto Garcia: “Congratulations to Kazakhstan. It was a very good match for both teams and this is good preparation for our mentality for the next round. Next week, it will be Colombia, Peru, Kazakhstan and our team, and this next round is very important.”

Cuba captain Sulian Caridad Matienzo Linares: “Our match was very difficult today. Kazakhstan had very good service and we could not focus on that. Even our team was not serving well. The difference is, Kazakhstan could simply do better than us.”
