Monterrey, Mexico, June 26, 2015- Colombia debuts in the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix with a straight-set victory over host Mexico at Nuevo Leon Unido Gymnasium on Friday.

Colombia coach Eduardo Guillaume: "Our victory comes from a combination of factors. We studied Mexico well and the team's defence was better than usual. Some players' skills were higher than usual and the whole team had confidence in their performance."

Colombia captain Maria Marin: "We were confident to win. We were disciplined in following our coaches instructions and we are starting on the right foot. Now we have to think about tomorrow's match."

Mexico coach Jorge Azair: "Each player has the responsibility to do their job during the game. In today's lineup, our starting setter did not perform well as expected. The team had many unforced errors and we did not produce points from attacking. It was a weak performance. I must say it was really a bad match and there is much to fix."

Mexico captain Dulce Carranza: "The team was not able to concentrate. We couldn't follow what our coach wanted. We must learn from this loss."
