Playing against Thailand is a good experience, says coach Manabe

Bangkok, Thailand, July 4, 2015 – Japan overcame Thailand a very intense match in straight sets (25-21, 25-22, 25-22) in Pool A of the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix at the Huamark Indoor Stadium on Saturday.

Thailand coach Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai: "First of all, I would like to congratulate to team Japan; they played very well. I also would like to thank to all my players because they tried so hard to get each point. Japanese players are in their top performance. This game is very good for us to learn and my team will improve for the upcoming games."

Thailand captain Wilavan Apinyapong: "Congratulations to Japan team. We tried to play according to the plan but Japan can play really well so it’s really hard for us to win this game. We still have many errors today, and we’ll try to learn from it and get ready for tomorrow’s game."

Japan coach Masayoshi Manabe: "Although we won, we have learned a lot about techniques and defense game. Playing against Team Thailand is always a good experience."

Japan captain Saori Kimura: "Thank you for the good game today. It is difficult to play with crowded audiences in the gym like this but it’s still a very good game."
